About Me

My dog Minerva, me, and my husband.

I am excited to be starting my second year at Rogers-Herr Middle School. My husband and I are both Duke graduates, and he is now back at Duke as a second-year law student. Before teaching at Rogers-Herr, I taught 6th grade science at Iroquois Middle School in Louisville, Kentucky. Before that, I worked in a genetics lab studying muscular dystrophy at Duke’s Center for Human Genetics. I have a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from Duke University, and a Masters of Arts in Teaching degree from the University of Louisville.

In my free time, I love to take walks with my Old English Sheepdog, Minerva. I also love to read (especially series books like Harry Potter or the Twilight series), and I do all kinds of crafts (like making jewelry, sewing, painting, scrapbooking, knitting, etc.).
